Materials & Care

The substrates we’ve chosen for the wall — what they’re made of, what suits them best, and how to keep them looking new.

Stretched Canvas

Stretched Canvas

Substrate
Cotton-poly weave, matte OBA-free coating
Build
400 gsm, mounted on 1.5" pine stretcher bars
Best for
Painterly styles (oil, impressionist, watercolour) where the woven texture reads as brushwork.
Care
Dust with a dry microfibre. Avoid direct sunlight — canvas coatings drift over 20+ years.

Framed Print

Framed Print

Substrate
260 gsm satin photo paper, museum-grade mount board
Build
Solid-wood moulding, gallery-white or matte-black finish, real glass
Best for
Portraits and photograph-forward styles that benefit from mat + frame.
Care

Metal Print

Metal Print

Substrate
Sublimation-dyed aluminium, satin finish
Build
1.14 mm sheet with float-mount hardware
Best for
High-contrast photo styles — the metal amplifies deep blacks and specular highlights.
Care
Wipe with a soft cloth and water. No solvents.

Fine Art Paper

Fine Art Paper

Substrate
200 gsm 100% α-cellulose, museum-grade matte
Build
Archival, acid-free, OBA-free
Best for
Sketch, charcoal, cyanotype, linocut — anything where the paper is meant to show.
Care
Best behind glass in a mat if hung; unmounted prints deserve a portfolio box.
